Services for Mitchell Perry Canter, 84. of 1008 West Delmas Avenue. Will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home. with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
The Rev. Courtney Wilson of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and Eldon C. Wright, of the First Baptist church of Nashville will officiate. Canter, a native of Smith County, died yesterday.
Before coming to Nashville he was part-owner of the Hickman Mill and Lumber Co.
He was married to the former Miss Mae Martin, also of Smith County, in 1905.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Eddie Canter Huggins; one sister Mrs. Minnie Kemp of Kempville, Tenn.; one brother, Levi Canter of Nashville.
