OBITUARY:
With Mrs. E. J. Mabbott's death, Sunday morning, a useful life on earth was ended. As neighbor, friend, wife, mother, she met every requirement. Her noble character, her Christian spirit, her self sacrificing nature, have contributed to the betterment of every person and every activity which have come under her influence. She was loved by all who knew her and all felt a personal loss when he sudden death was announced. Mrs. Mabbott has been afflicted with Bright's disease (a disease of the kidneys) for a long period of time, but had maintained her interest in all things to the last. The day before she passed away she attended the Lincoln memorial exercises at Mr. Morrow's. Her patriotism was genuine and effective; she gave a son to her country; she was an earnest worker in the W.R.C. and at the last, in her feeble condition, she gathered with her fellow citizens to do honor to the memory of the great martyred patriot. Mrs. Mabbott raised a family of her own, a granddaughter left motherless when just a few weeks of age, and an adopted daughter. the funeral was held Wednesday at the Congregational church and internment was made in the Old Helena cemetery. Rev. Isaac B. Tracy officiating.
Margaret Stuart Bernard was born in Prince Edward's Island July 24th, 1848, and died April 15th, 1917, in her sixty-ninth year. She came with her parents when a small child, to the United States. A WORD OF THANKS.
We cannot express in words our appreciation of the kindness and thoughtfulness of the dear neighbors and friends in these hours of sadness caused by the loss of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. E. J. Mabbott and Family.
