Terre Hill, April 19 - Geroge C. Althouse, 48, formerly of Lancaster, died yesterday in his home in Waymart, near Scranton. He was a son of Lavina (Zook) and the late Harry Althouse, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lancaster.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. William Landis, of Leola; his widow, Elizabeth (Steffy) Althouse; two daughters: Dorothy, wife of Robert Kopp, Lancaster, and Jane, wife of Howard Fritz, Columbia; three grandchildren; a brother, Harry E. Althouse, Terre Hill; two stepsisters: Anna Mae, wife of James Rowe, of Holtwood R.D. 1, and Margaret, wife of James Bitts, Lancaster R. D. 7, and a stepbrother, Paul Landis, Lancaster R. D. 7.

Services Friday at 2 p.m. in the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, this borough, the Reve. O. D. E. Potteiger officiating. Burial in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.
