Andrew Joseph "Joe" Ribble, age 78, of Church Street, Woodhull, died on Monday, September 29, at his home.

Joe was born in Hornellsville, NY on December 9, 1929, the son of Herbert S. and Clarabelle (Updyke) Ribble. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.

He married Elizabeth Renninger on May 23, 1953. She predeceased him on March 28, 1980. He later married Carolyn J. Mayo, who survives.

Joe worked as a candy maker at the former A & P Food Plant in Horseheads for many years and also helped operate a dairy farm on the Andy Murphy farm in Jasper. He later drove bus for AUTO.

Surviving is his wife, Carolyn J. Ribble, his sons, Joseph (Cindy) Ribble of Woodhull, Clifford (Chris) Ribble of Candor, Timothy (Stacey) Ribble of Charleston, SC, Terry (Cathy) Ribble of Leesburg, Fl and Brian Ribble (Jamie Siegl) of Addison, his daughters, Marianne (Richard) Jones of Victoria, TX and Carrie Ribble (Joseph Duell) of Woodhull, his son in law, Lynn Burrell of Sabinsville, Pa., his sisters, Mary VanTreese of Campbell and Doris Krise of Candor, his brothers, Kenneth (Beatrice) Ribble and Ephriam (Hazel) Ribble, both of Addison.

Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his daughter June Burrell in 2003.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place in Woodhull Cemetery.
