Edward was the eleventh of 12 children. His parents were Samuel and Mary (Smith) Kelley. He married Ida Ann (nicknamed 'Rebecca') Scarborough on 23 Sept. 1888. Together they had 9 children, Gertrude, Letha, Bert, William, Dewey, Edward, Ethel, Illah and Lottie Lorene. Ed was a coal miner and a salesman. He died of myocarditis.
