ALEDO -- Brantley Ross Pringle Sr., 84, departed his earthly life Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in Annetta.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at University Christian Church, with Dr. Scott Colglazier officiating. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Brantley Ross Pringle Sr. was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Otto, Falls County, the son of Parker and Bertha Bletsch Pringle. He was a graduate of Marlin High School, entering Texas A&M University at the age of 16 in the class of '39. Before graduation he transferred to the University of Texas Law School, class of '41, and practiced briefly with his uncle, Louis J. Wardlaw, in Fort Worth before entering the Navy.

After Midshipman's School at Notre Dame, he was commissioned a second lieutenant and assigned as communications officer on the USS Ellett, spending three years in the Pacific Theater until the end of the war in 1945.

He married Helen Miller of Fort Worth in 1948, and their children are Sarah Virginia "Sally" Pringle, Woodside, Calif., and Brantley Ross Pringle Jr., Austin.

Brantley practiced both civil and criminal law in Fort Worth for more than 55 years, representing clients across the spectrum and helping hundreds of people most in need. Over the years, he survived a heart attack and cancer surgeries in 1995 and 1996. He was a member of University Christian Church and the Tarrant County, Texas and American Bar Associations. He was a dedicated lawyer, a faithful friend, a loving, generous family man, a hero to his wife and children, a giver of his heart and a keeper of his word. The void that he leaves cannot be filled, but we know that he is reaping his heavenly reward.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Helen; daughter, Sally Pringle of Woodside, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Suzanne Pringle of Austin; granddaughter, Sarah Isabel Pringle of Austin; brother, Jeff Pringle of Malone; many nieces and nephews; and hosts of friends.
