Marjorie D. Prindle, age 96, of Wakeman, died Thursday evening at her daughter's home in Rocky River. She was born on October 9, 1913 in New Haven, IN, grew up in Avon, OH, and has lived in the Wakeman area since 1960. She was a graduate of Avon High School and wrote the lyrics for the school fight song. Marjorie was a talented musician who played professionally in dance bands and shared her talent, playing for church, school, Grange, and Eastern Star events. She was active in community services. She was a member of the Wakeman Congregational Church, the Wakeman Grange, and the Order of Eastern Star.
Marjorie was devoted to her family. She loved flowers and was an avid card player. Marjorie and her husband traveled quite extensively during their retirement. At her recent 96th birthday celebration, she played the Happy Birthday song on the piano while her family sang to her.
Loving mother of M. Dale (Mary Louise) Reisinger, of Vermilion, Sherrill Seeley, of Wakeman, Lois (James) Magisano, of Rocky River, Gary (Bonnie Sneider) Prindle, Karen (Chander) Kohli, of Youngstown, and Penny (Robert) Taylor, of Somerset, OH.
Sister of Russell G. Chester, of Wakeman. Grandmother of ten, great-grandmother of seven, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Allen W. Prindle, her parents, Albert and Stella (Federspiel) Chester, her son, Gary Prindle, two brothers, William and Albert Chester, a grandson, Aneal M. Kohli, and son-in-law, David Seeley.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Avon.
