Chucky passed away peacefully Thursday evening,@ Meriter Hospital in Madison. Chuck was 1 of 5 children of Robert & Lillian(White)Contreras. He married Linda Singleson May 14, 1983 here in Montello.
Chuck was also known as "Eagle Cry", was a member of the Gabrieleno/ Tongva Nation. He was anatural teacher & a very spirtual man who touched many lives. Many knew him as a very caring man, but he will be remembered most for the father figure he was., not only to his own chldren,but to many children of Montello and the surrounding area. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include; wife Linda,4 children: Sammi,& Toni both of Montello, Gina & Charles jr. of California, 5 Grandchildren: Victor,Valerie,Derion,Chuck,& Daniel as well as brother Michael of California,sisters Marcella(Louie) Madrid of Nevada, Judy(Bryan) Carter of California. Chuck is further survived by many nieces & nephews,extended family members, special friends and the many children of the Montello School who meant so much to him.
Preceding Chuck in Death are his parents & brothers Robby & Donny Sr., as well as his Tia Pearl & Lupe Omatta.
A ceremonial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5pm until 7pm @ the home of Linda Contreras, 73 Church St. Montelo,Wi. 53949. A fire will be lit in his Honor. Please bring a dish to pass for the feast & a lawn chair. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
