Charles D. Smith, 69, half-brother of Mrs. J. H. Shearer, of Troy, died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at his home in Dayton. He had resided there for 43 years.
Mr. Smith, a carpenter, was the son of Stewart and Kathryn E Smith, late of Miami County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Smith; four half-sisters, Mrs. Oscar Karns, of Piqua, Mrs. Shearer of Troy, and Mrs. Carrie Emerick and Mrs. James Robbins both of Tipp City; and two half-brothers, Raymond Underwood of Tipp City and James Foreman Underwood of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from the Reisinger Funeral Home in Dayton. Burial will be made in the Shiloh cemetery.
