Robert E. Manning, 87, of Coal Township, went home to be with his Lord, whom he loved so much, on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.

He was born May 31, 1922, in Chicago. He was married to the former Anna Krebs, who preceded him in death in 2003.

Robert was employed as a union electrician in Chicago until moving to Pennsylvania in 1961. He then founded Manning's Pianos and Organs, a family business that thrived for 44 years in the Shamokin area.

He was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Shari Manning, of Paxinos, Paul and Barbara Manning, of Coal Township, and Tom Manning, of Selinsgrove; and five grandchildren, Bob, Chris, Shelly, Abigail and Emily.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Angels, Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, where the funeral will be conducted at 11.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury.
