06 Apr 1862 - Fought in the Battle of Shiloh at Pittsburg Landing, Hardin, Tennessee.
27 Apr 1862 - Died in 21st Reg't Hospital before the Siege at Corinth, Mississippi.
05 Dec 1864 - Mustered Out Roll 21st Reg't Missouri Infantry, Co. F at Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee.
06 Dec 1886 - Application was made for 'Declaration of Original Pension of a Mother' (Aroled SPURGEON).

During the Civil War, Calvin & brother-in-law Richard D. ANDREWS served in the Twenty-first Missouri Volunteer Infantry, Company "F". They were in the Battle of Shiloh on Apr 6, 1862, which both survived. A few days later, Calvin died in the 21st Reg't Hospital before the Siege at Corinth, Mississippi. His burial location is unknown and is presumed unmarked at Shiloh National Cemetery, Pittsburg Landing, Hardin, Tennessee.
