Services for Mrs. Claudie May Beal, 88, of Lufkin, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home chapel with Rev. D. R. McNaughton officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Houston County.
Mrs. Beal was born May 19, 1909 in Houston County, and she died November 20, 1997 in Lufkin.
Mrs. Beal was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Lufkin. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mrs. Beal had been a resident of Angelina County for 20 years.
Survivors include her sons, Preston Beal, Jr. of Houston, Jearl O. Beal of Houston; daughter, Laura M. Marek of Houston; brother, Richard Herman of Wells; sisters, Ruby Griggs of Lufkin, Aline Strange of Crockett; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
