DEATH REMOVES MRS ANNA CLARK

Barons - An early resident of the Barons district, Mrs Anna Clark, died suddenly in a Lethbridge hospital on Oct 2 (sic) after a short illness. Mrs Clark was 72 years of age and had resided in this district for over fifty years.


Anna Inkster Clark was born in Towner, North Dakota. At the age of 17 she married Mr McCord and they came to Canada and homesteaded on Black Spring Ridge in 1903/ At the time there was no post office in Barons and they got their mail at Elinor, about 10 miles west. Mr McCord died in 1933 and was buried at Clareshom.


In 1935 she married R Bruce Clark and they lived at their farm home until Mr Clark died in 1944. After staying on the farm for a time Mrs Clark moved to Barons where she lived until the time of her death.


Survivors include two sisters, Mrs Marie Townsend of Cassopolis, Mich and Mrs Isobel Pfeifster of Los Angeles; two stepsons, Robert Clark of Carmangay and Ralph Clark of Creston; two nephews, Gerald Townsend of Cassopolis and Dr Donald Larson of Long Beach and seven nieces, Mrs Ruby Whidden, Palm Springs, California, Mrs Edna Becker, Skokie, Ill; Mrs Sybil Miller, Long Island, NY; Mrs Joyce Hartung, Chicago; Mrs Marcia Ames, St Petersburg, Florida; Mrs Trelese Schuessler, Dowagia, Mich and Mrs Annabel Miers of Los Angeles.


Mrs Clark was predeceased by a step-daughter, a sister and two brothers.


Funeral services were held from Claresholm United Church on Oct 6 at 2:30 pm with Rev Russell Beairsto of Barons officiating. Interment will be in the Claresholm cemetery. Ringrose Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

DEATH REMOVES MRS ANNA CLARK
