OBITUARY - Charles F Banzet, the subject of this sketch, was born in Alsace France, March 8, 1830 and was reared and educated there.

In 1850 he came to America and landed in New Orleans. Subsequently locating in Illinois, where he was identified in the industry of farming for a few years after which he went to Iowa and followed a like occupation there for nearly 23 years.

In 1876 he came to Labette County, Kansas, locating on a farm southeast of this city (Edna), where he remained until seven years ago, when he went to Tonkawa Oklahoma where his son, Edward Banzet, resides and where he lived until his death, which occurred at that place Thursday evening.

He was united in marriage in Lasell county, Illinois to Miss Louisa Kastler, also a native of France. She departed this life July 22, 1881, and was buried in Lucas Cemetery.

The remains of the deceased were shipped here Saturday evening and services were held Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, after which they were interred in the Lucas Cemetery beside his wife. He leaves five sons and three daughters living.
