MRS. ALLEN, 96, DIES, FUNERAL AT ELIZABETHTOWN - Mrs. Mary Nora Brian Allen, 96, related here, died Sunday night, November 11, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Louisville. She was the widow of the late Dr. M. S. Allen, who died in 1951 in Elizabethtown, and had visited here many times with her sister, the late Mrs. J. R. Corbett. They had traveled together extensively. A native of Hardin County, Mrs. Allen was one of 8 children to the late Mr. & Mrs. J. Horace Brian of Colesburg, and was an aunt of Leo W. and Joe L. Corbett of Bardstown. Other survivors include a daughter, Sister Sylvester Marie Allen, of Fredericktown; 16 nieces, 12 other nephews, a step-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ophelia Shirchiff Allen, of Louisville, and 3 step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown, with interment in the church cemetery.
