Miss Hattie Gowan married Dr. V.O. Rosser, Jr on 27 November 1930 at the Gowan Ranch in Bellevue, Texas. The couple moved to Graham, Texas in 1934.

Services for Dr. Virgil Oliver Rosser, Jr., 72, were held at the First Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Eugene Robertson, assisted by Dr. D.L. McCree and Rev. John Wiles. Dr. Rosser was a member of the Methodist Church. Dr. Rosser was a physician and surgeon for the Graham community. He served as Mayor for eight years and was a member of the Rotary Club.

Survived by his wife; one daughter; two sons; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sisters - Mrs. Julia Hornady, Mrs. Helen Curtis, Mrs. Marian Hoover, Mrs. Mildred Zoll.
