Funeral services for Julius C. Arneson, who died Saturday, Dec. 23, 1967 were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1967 at 2 p.m. from the West Moe Lutheran church. The Rev. A. J. Sheldahl officiated. Honorary bearers were August Anderson, Clifford Johnson, Harold Johnson, Carl Ronning, Henry Scholten, and Henry Thorsen. Active bearers were Ernest Hoium, Ervin Hoium, Maynard Hoium, Melvin Hoium, David Soberg and Richard Stockness. Interment was made in the West Moe Lutheran cemetery.

Julius C. Arneson was born in Pope county, Minn., the son of Eberhardt and Marie Arneson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and lived in Pope county until his marriage to Ida Hoium in Pope county on Nov. 27, 1925. They then moved to Douglas county and for the last 25 years he farmed in the Brandon area. Surviving are his wife Ida of rural Garfield; 3 sons: Donald of Grandview, Mo.; Myron of Garland, Texas; Kenneth of Chandler, Ariz.; 3 daughters, (June) Mrs. Harvey Karrow of Alexandria; (Evangeline) Mrs. David Barnack of Detroit Lakes; Bernice Arneson at home at rural Garfield; 2 brothers: Arnold Arneson of Aurora, Ill.; Edwin Arneson of Denver, Colo.; 2 sisters: (Florence) Mrs. Martin Hoium of Starbuck; Mrs. Edna Hoium, also of Starbuck; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, 2 daughters and a brother William.
