CHLOE SNOW GARDINER DIES: LONG ILLNESS

Chloe Snow Gardner, the wife of Royal J. Gardner died at the family home in Delta on Tuesday night following a long illness. Mrs. Gardner was seventy-seven years of age, born in Lehi on Jan. 12, 1859, the daughter of William and Sarah Snow.

Mr. and Mrs. Gardner moved to Delta twelve years ago from Grass Valley in the southern part of the state. Most of Mrs. Gardner's life had been spent there and in Pine Valley. She and Mr. Gardner were married sixty two years ago, twelve children were born to them.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband and the following children; Royal S., Cedar City; J.X., Pine Valley; Levi and Clair F., Delta; Kuman, Newcastle, Mrs. Emma Abbott, Mesquite; Mrs. Rose Abbott, Bunkerville; Mary, Delta and Mrs. Florence Johnson, Santa Paula, Cal. There are thirty four grandchildren. She is also survived by the following sisters; Mrs. Emma Burgess and Mrs. Lucy Gardner, St. George; Mrs. Marietta Gardner, Delta and one brother Wm. J. Snow of Provo. Funeral services were held in the Delta Second Ward Chapel on Thursday afternoon at two p.m. under the direction of Bishop Stephenson. Interment will be in the Delta cemetery.

Mrs. Gardner was a woman of quiet strength and charm of character. During the past few years her poor health had kept her from taking an active part in town and church affairs but prior to that she had been active in the Relief Society work and other organizations. She was a devoted wife and mother and the sympathy of their many friends here is extended to the bereaved family.
