Waynesboro Route 3, nearn Salem Church. He had been in failing health since last Fall and succumbed in it he kitchen of his home.
He was born in Carroll County, Md., the son of Jacob and Rachel (Wantz) Koons. He came to Waynesboro when a boy, where he spent the greater part of his life. He was employed in the Frick Company boiler shop and In 1920 moved to his present residence, where he had engaged in farming. He was a member of Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church. He was a member of the 80-Year-Club. His wife, Emma McGlnley Koons, died In 1939.
Surviving are three, daughters and one son: Mrs. Alta Brunner, at home; Mrs. Clarence Barlup and
Mrs. Homer Barlup, Waynesboro Route 3, and Frank Bahner Koons, Waynesboro Route 4: 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3:30 p. m. at the home with services at 4 p. m. in Salem Church,
in charge of the Rev. Howard J. B. Ziegler. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
