Emma Alfredette was born to Silas and Emma Ingeborg (Goodletson) Trueblood on 14 Feb. 1878, along with her twin brother Thomas Alfred. They had and older brother George and sister Louisa. Their mother died six months later after arranging for Emma to be adopted by an older Danish couple in Ephraim, Andrew and Marie Johnson. Thomas was raised by his grandparents, Thomas and Kjesten Goodletson of Ephraim.

Emma married Nels Peter Anderson in Ephraim on 6 Nov 1900. They had five children before her death in 1918 of the Spanish Influenza. She was buried by her uncle Cornelius Goodletson.
