Mrs. Ruby Kate Wiggins Brown, 92, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Brown, formerly a resident of 1425 Drayton Rd., Drayton, was the wife of the late James Clinton Brown, and was the daughter of the late William Daniel and Hattie Bailey Wiggins.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Drayton Baptist Church, and a member of the Ora Chapter of Eastern Star # 153 for 64 years. She was formerly a weaver at Cowpens Mill. She and her husband owned and operated Brown's Shoe Shop in Cowpens for 32 years.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Patricia B. Crocker and husband W. A. of Gaffney, and Josephine B. Ryan of Spartanburg; 1 half-brother, Heyward Bailey of Fort Mill, SC; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by 4 sisters, Ruth Thomason, Helen Kirby, Gladys Thornton, and Annie Bell Barnette; and 2 brothers, Lloyd Wiggins and Curtis Wiggins.

Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Bobo Funeral Chapel followed by visitation from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 at Bobo Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Randall Blackmon and Rev. Terry Wilson. Interment will be in Cowpens Cemetery.
