Nannie Allmon, 96, of Olden, a schoolteacher, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday at Eastland Manor Nursing Home. Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 1985 at Bakker Funeral Home in Eastland.

The Rev. Clifford Nelson of Brownwood officiated, assisted by the Rev. Bobby King, pastor of Olden Baptist Church. Burial was held at Eastland Cemetery.

Born Jan. 13, 1889, in Quitman, she was reared in Olden and attended Hardin-Simmons, Howard Payne, and North Texas State universities. She taught in Van Horn and Monahans before returning to Olden, where she taught for 40 years. She retired in 1957. She was a member of Olden Baptist Church. Two sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include three nephews, O.H. Dick of Olden, Lee Dick of Odessa, and Charles Dick of Kermit, and two nieces, Fay Simms of Odessa and Barbara Hooper of Andrews.

Pallbearers were Charles Hutto, Virgil Hamilton, Joe Norton, Glen Ferguson, Milton Fullen, and Ray Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be former students.
