Dorothy June Richeson 1921-2006 Ottawa

Services for Dorothy June Richeson, 85, Ottawa, were Saturday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg. Mrs. Richeson died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. She was born June 7, 1921, in Newton, the daughter of Carl E. Adams and Eva Clara Kitching Adams-Kinsey. She graduated from Newton High School in 1939 and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia for two and a half years. Mrs. Richeson was an office clerk at Beechcraft in Wichita from 1941 to 1945. She moved to Ottawa in 1947 and worked for 39 years at her husband's accounting office, Richeson-Thomas Public Accountants. She retired in 1986. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 5901 Auxilliary for 64 years, Order of the Eastern Star Sadana Chapter No. 194 in Williamsburg, and Aerie Lodge No. 2700 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxilliary, both in Ottawa. She married Anthony Clinton "Doc" Richeson on July 1, 1943, in Newton. He died Dec. 17, 1995. Survivors include two sons, David Richeson and wife Dee, Oskaloosa, and Bill Richeson and wife Audrey, Baldwin; two daughters, Nancy Leahew and husband Bob, Ottawa, and Mary Thomas and husband Russell, Ottawa; nine grandchildren, Tony, Brian, Travis, Jennifer, Wendi, Joseph, Matthew, Jamie and Clint; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Jacob, Abbigail, Cierra, Samantha and Catherine; and a nephew, Leslie. Her parents and a sister-in-law, Beulah McCurdy, died earlier. Family visitation Friday at the mortuary. Memorials to Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 5901 Auxilliary or Franklin County Cancer Foundation.
