John "Jack" Close Moran, husband of the late Margaret Mary, nee Harty; loving father of Margaret (late James) Brady, John C. Jr. (Ann), Joan (John) Schimanski, James F. (Elayne), Gerald P. (Joan), Mary Therese (Thomas) Fisher, Robert T. and the late Donald C.; dearest grandfather of 39; great-grandfather of 11; fond brother of Sr. M. Thomas Aquinas O.P., Joseph P. (the late Rosalie), James R., Rita L. (the late Lester) Brace, the late Anna M. and Joseph O'Leary and the late Mary Elizabeth and Ross Kimmey. Longtime resident of Oak Lawn, who lived recently in a nursing home in Shabbona, De Kalb County, died Monday in Kishwaukee Community Hospital, De Kalb, after a short illness. Before retiring, Mr. Moran worked as a business manager for Shirley Cadillac, Oak Lawn, for 10 years. He was an accountant most of the 50 years he worked in the car business. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War I and past president of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Nicholas Conference. Funeral Thursday, 10 a.m. from Kenny Brothers, 3600 W. 95th St., to St. Germaine Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Visitation 4-10 p.m. Wednesday. 239-3600.
