Mary (Pinter) Smetak, age 83, of 211 W. Columbus in West, passed away Sunday evening, December 30, 1990, at West Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 1 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Burial followed in West Brethren Cemetery.

Mrs. Smetak was born May 25, 1907, in West, the daughter of John and Annie Pinter. She lived in West all her life. She was a homemaker and a cook for several area restaurants. She was a Brethren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Alfons Smetak, Jr., who died in 1942, and Marcell Smetak, who died in 1989; and one daughter, Margaret Smetak, who died in 1940.

Survivors include two sons, Hank Smetak of Arlington and James Smetak of West; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Pat) Hancock of Lacy-Lakeview; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece, Tomisha Leatherwood of Dallas and one nephew, Jay Pinter of Waco.

Pallbearers were Robert Kahanek, Sam Pinter, Darren Hancock, Fred Gerik, Steve Smetak, and Todd Smetak.
