Funeral services for Ethel Dorene Snow, 70, of Grass Valley will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. She died on December 9, 2002 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 27, 1932 near Hayden, Colorado to Gilbert and Olive Dorothy (Brakey) McBride. She owned and operated Tiny Tots Day Care. She married Ottis Vernon Snow on June 10, 1961 in Grass Valley. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; her daughter, Reta O'Leary; and her step-son, Mark Vernon Snow. She is survived by her mother of Grass Valley; her daughters, Anna Seligman of Hemet, Barbara Abney of Astoria, Oregon, Carla Lewis of Anchorage, Alaska, Christine Peterson and Ruth McIlhenny, both of Grass Valley, Dorene Porter of Fort Bragg, and Joyce Jeppsen of Iowa City, Iowa; her son, James Lewis of Grass Valley; her step-son, Michael James Snow; forty three grandchildren; and thirty five great-grandchildren.
