Allison "Jack" Miles, 1908-2005

Jack Miles, age 96, of Osage, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa. His body was cremated. Private graveside services will be held at Saratoga Township Cemetery in Saratoga, Iowa.

Jack was born December 15, 1908, near Saratoga, Iowa, the son of John and Elsie May (Watson) Miles. Jack was married to Vera Louise Bernett on March 31, 1930. Their married life was spent farming in the Riceville Community.

The family business was breeding and showing award winning Black Angus cattle that he prized. He loved singing and dancing anytime. Vera died on May 18, 1969. Jack retired and married Pearl Bublitz Urbatsch on April 23, 1977. They made their home in Osage. Pearl died on September 24, 2004.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vera Miles; and his second wife Pearl Urbatsch Miles.

Jack is survived by his daughter Myrna Garrison and husband Richard of Santa Paula, California; two granddaughters, Cheryl McGhee and husband Donald of Boulder City, Nevada, and Carole Alary and husband Stephen of Ventura, California; five great-grandchildren, Paul and Miles Alary, Bonnie and James McGhee, Jennie Burns and husband Ben; two great-great-grandchildren Kayla and McKenzie Burns; two stepsons, Gene Urbatsch and wife Penny of Post Falls, Idaho, and James Urbatsch and wife Delores of Osage; five step-grandchildren, Jamie Smith and husband Andy, Jodee Robertson and husband Neil,Todd Urbatsch and wife Amy, Kathy Christiansen and husband Corey, Stacy Hemann and husband Jesse; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
