Pansy Martin Simpson, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late John Martin and Celia Brooks Martin, was born on April 10, 1924, in Morgantown, Kentucky, and departed this life on Monday, December 7, 2009, at Summerfield Heath and Rehab Center, in Louisville. She was 85 years, 7 months and 27 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ. She was a retired employee for the Phillip-Morris Corporation, where she worked as a line worker. She married Lavern Simpson on February 15, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1993.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Randall Simpson, and his wife, Tracy, of Delaware, and Phillip Simpson, and friend, Robin Payne, both of Louisville; two grandchildren, Melissa Woody, of New York, and Lauren Simpson, of Louisville; two great-grandchildren, Kendall Woody and Madison Woody, both of New York; a brother, Arthur Martin, of Anderson, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Judd Cemetery, in Green County. Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis will officiate. Pallbearers are Phillip Simpson, Charles Simpson, Ken Ferguson, Gary Ferguson, Chris Ferguson, Ben Ferguson and Robert Conley. Visitation is after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, until time of the funeral service.
