CLARA BLACKSTOCK

Clara Harwell Blackstock of Enville died Monday, May 3, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 79. A native of Chester County, she was the daughter of Maggie Estalee Smith and Joseph Walter Harwell. She was married to William Blackstock who, preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Blackstock was a homemaker and she worked a short time in a garment factory. A lifelong resident of the Enville area, she was a member of Milledgeville Church of Christ. Services were Wednesday, May 5, at 1 p.m. at Milledgeville Church of Christ with burial in Milledgeville Cemetery. Jim Chamblee officiated. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Garrard of Parsons and Mrs. Metha Bingham of Henderson; two sons, Fred Blackstock of Pensacola, Fla., and Joe Blackstock of Savannah; one sister, Clora Harwell of Enville; one brother, Graper Harwell of Enville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Daughter of Joseph Walter & Maggie Estlee Smith Harwell. Her siblings: Arlie Lee, William Stinson, David Graper, & Clora. On January 12, 1936 she was united in marriage to William Albert Blackstock in Chester County, Tennessee. William & Clara's children: William Fred, Joe Charles, Betty Carolyn, & Metha Sue.
