Louella was the D/O Rufus Hern & Lula Madden Rouse. Louella never married, although she was at one time engaged. She worked as a cashier at the London Store in Hattiesburg, and during World War II she was housekeeper at the Leaf Hotel. She was a wonderful seamstress, and supported herself with that talent. At one time she lived in a small apartment above the store for which she did alterations.
At some point during the late 1940's Louella slipped in the bathtub and injured her hip. It was not broken, but later cancer developed in the bone of that hip. During her illness, she spent time with several of her siblings. She was staying with her brother Preston at the time of her death.
