Amelia Brubaker, widow of Jacob K. Brubaker, died today at 10:00 a.m., at the residence of her son, Earl A. Brubaker, 226 Walnut Street, Lebanon. She had been confined to her bed almost continuously for the past ten months, having been in poor health for the past several years. Mrs. Brubaker was born at Buffalo Springs, Lebanon County, a member of old Lebanon and Lancaster county families, on November 8, 1863. She was the daughter of Noah Eby Eberly and Elizabeth Groh Eberly. She attended the public schools of Lebanon and Lancaster counties. She attended the Boyertown high school during the pastorate of the Boyertown Lutheran church by her uncle, the Rev. Leonard Groh, and Millersville State Teachers' College, she taught school at Sporting Hill, Lancaster county, for five years. After her marriage her husband and herself resided in South Lebanon township for practically all their life. For some years upon retirement they lived at Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Kreider Brubaker; and sons, Rev. A. Nevin Brubaker (a Reformed minister) in 1918, and Rev. Raymond E. Brubaker (a Presbyterian minister) in 1920. A brother, A. F. Eberly, of Octavia, Nebraska, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, District Attorney Earl A. Brubaker, and three grandchildren, Sara Louise Brubaker, daughter of A. Nevin Brubaker; and Elizabeth D. Brubaker and John K. Brubaker, children of Earl A. Brubaker. A sister, Mrs. D. O. Mader, of Lebanon, also survives. Mrs. Brubaker was a member of the First (Tabor) Reformed Church for many years and affiliated with different organizations of the church.
