Mr. Olson, known as Larry, was born March 29, 1912, in Amery, Wis., where he grew up and graduated from Amery High School in 1929. He worked for the Minnesota Game and Fish Department for 45 years.
On April 16, 1938, he married Edrie M. Smith in St. Paul. They lived in Forest Lake, Minn., where he worked for the Department of Natural Resources at the Carlos Avery State Game Farm.
He joined the U. S. Navy in 1943 and served during World War II. He was discharged in 1945. They moved to Madelia, Minn., where they lived until 1969. He managed the state game farm near Madelia. In 1969, they moved to Park Rapids, where he worked for the Department of Natural Resources, retiring in 1973. She died in 1990.
He is survived by a son, Kim (Cindy), Park Rapids; a daughter, Mary Lou (Fred) Banholzer, Shoreview, Minn.
