He was born May 22, 1920, in Gary, S.D., to Frank and Leana (Schrader) Kline. He enlisted in the Army, serving during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Brainerd. He married Stella Chapman on Sept. 6, 1952, in Brainerd. He worked as a tie bucker for the Burlington Northern Tie Plant for more than 30 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Potvin, Baxter; and two sisters, Alice Donnell, Cass Lake, and Eva Kjonsas, Grand Rapids.
Eleven brothers and sisters died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd with the Rev. Paul Biegner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Brainerd American Legion Post No. 255. Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church.
