Pauline Tingen Cobb, 97, of 94 Mary Jane Bigelow Road, Yanceyville, NC died on Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC after a decline in health over the past two months.

Mrs. Cobb was born on Sept. 4, 1916, in Person County NC, a daughter of the late Otha H. Tingen and Bessie Long Tingen. Mrs. Cobb lived most of her life in Caswell County, NC where she was a home maker.

She loved to quilt, work in her garden, and cook family dinners. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church where she actively served as an Elder, a Deacon and as Treasurer for many years. On April 27, 1935, Mrs. Cobb married James Oldham Cobb, Sr.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by one daughter, Josephine Jo Wilson and her husband Tommy; and one son, Bobby Cobb and wife Sherry, all of Yanceyville; one brother, R.B. Tingen and wife Tennie of Roxboro; two sisters, Annie Mae Denny and Marie Long, both of Richmond, VA.; a daughter-in-law Linda Cobb; six grandchildren, Lisa Wilson, Ricky Wilson (Lori), Shannon Wilson (Pam), Traci Coleman (Jay), Carolyn Poteat (Alan), Amy Webster (Chris), and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter Jeanette Cobb, and two sons, James O. Cobb, Jr. and Larry Cobb, and by six sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Cobb loved her God and her family. She taught them how to be strong in the face of diversity and how important God and family are as we travel this life on Earth.
