Harry T. Bergman, 93, La Cygne, died March 4, 2010, at the North Point Skilled Nursing Facility in Paola.

He was born Oct. 29, 1916, at La Cygne, the son of Henry and Stella Boyd Bergman.

He was a World War II veteran serving his country with the United States Army. He married Evelyn Nellsch on Aug. 10, 1938, at Mound City. She preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 1998.

He worked for the City of La Cygne Water and Gas Department.

He was a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, American Legion, and loved to fish and hunt.

He was also preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include three sons, Roy Bergman of Roseberg, Ore., Carl Bergman of Granbury, Texas, and Harry Bergman of Parker; one daughter, Barbara Harbison of La Cygne; three sisters, Alta Cole, Margie McGinnis and Ruth Allison; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday, followed by burial in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Cygne. Arrangements were by Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, 202 N. Fourth St., La Cygne, KS 66040, (913) 757-2035. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coffelschneider.com.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Kansas.
