Jessie was born Maria de Jesus Garcia on May 15, 1929, in Pasa Monte, New Mexico to Leopoldo Garcia and Maria Inez (Romero) Garcia. She was raised in Springer, NM, and graduated from Springer High School in 1948. She married Miguel Martinez, Jr. on December 26, 1949, in Springer, NM. She resided with her family in Fallbrook, CA, from 1950 to 1978. She worked as an accounting technician at Camp Pendleton, CA and later transferred with her husband to Seal Beach Naval Weapon Station in 1978. She retired in 1985. She and her husband Miguel resided in Stanton, CA from 1978 until recently moving to Las Cruces, NM, this past January.
Jessie is survived by her daughter Louise Holloway and husband Dusty of Fallbrook, CA; daughter Elizabeth Martinez of Stanton, CA; and son Paul A. Martinez and wife Carmen of Las Cruces, NM.
