Roger Ackley, age 62, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010.
He was the son of Earl and Beulah (Shoup) Ackley, born in Peoria. He married Helen Bundesman, April 10, 2001.
Roger was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of Amvets.
Sam worked for Caterpillar Peoria and also was a bartender.
Survived by his wife; two brothers, Donald Greenfield and Allen Ackley; four sisters, Joyce Means, Lucille Ackley; Ellis Ackley, Louise Pearson and Janice Rowe. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jerry.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Newhard Funeral Home in Westville, IN. Pastor Kenneth Gamblin will officiate.
Interment will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
