ABRAHAMSON - Artie Pearl Abrahamson, daughter of William and Viola Holder, was born August 7, 1886 and departed this life at the Lucas County Memorial Hosptal on January 11, 1970 at the age of 83 years, five months and six days.
She was born in Marion County, Ia., and at an early age moved with her parents to Lucas County where she spent her entire life.
On July 15, 1906, she was united in marriage to Manuel Abrahamson. They made their home on a farm in English Township. To this union three sons and one daughter were born, Leonard, Mrs. Hasel (Esther) Morton, both of Chariton, Amos of Albia and Albert, also of Chariton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Manuel, one brother, George Holder, one sister, Lucy Stephenson, one granddaughter, Mabel Marlene Abrahamson, and two great granddaughters, Kandy Kay Abrahamson and Tammy Lee Abrahamson.
She leaves to mourn her passing the four children, two sisters, Mrs. Schuyler Ashby and Mrs. Maude Barger, both of Chariton, two brothers, Jim Holder of Ames, Iowa and Lester Holder of Brooklyn, Iowa, two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Abrahamson of Albia and Mrs. Mabel Abrahamson of Chariton, one son-in-law, Mrs. Hasel Morton of Chariton, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She had been in failing health for a number of years and often spoke of being ready to meet her Saviour.
She was a kind and loving mother and a friend to everyone. She is going to be greatly missed, but our loss is heaven's gain.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Duane Houston at 1;30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1970 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
