Helena Soemmer Mesch Sheboygan Press April 7, 1939

Kiel, Wis—(special)—Mrs. Helena Mesch, 81, widow of the late Adolph Mesch, founder and organizer of the Kiel Wooden Ware company, died suddenly at her home at 812 N. Seventh Street, today. She was formerly Helena Glock, a daughter of Adam and Katherine Gerlach Glock. Mrs. Mesch was born in the town of Plymouth Dec. 15, 1857, and was married to Henry Soemmer who died in 1895 after the couple had lived on a farm near Kiel for several years. In 1902 she was married to Adolph Mesch and moved with her husband to Manitowoc, where he died in 1907. Mrs. Mesch then returned to Kiel. She was a charter member of the Frauenverein of St. Peters Evangelical and Reformed church at Kiel.
Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Dietrich Kattre of Plymouth, Mrs. Theodore Hungsberg of Elkhart Lake, Mrs. Carl Schuette of Sheboygan and Mrs. Gottlieb Burkhardt of this city; and a brother, Henry Glock of Weyauwega.
Last rites will be held at the C. J. Meiselwitz funeral home here and at St. Peters Church. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate and burial will be near her first husband in Rockville Cemetery.
