Her grave is outlined with large sandstones with a single large stone at the head of the grave along with her original tombstone. Her original tombstone reads: "Mae J. Brown, Born September 11, 1859 Died November 24, 1895"

Betty's name also appears on a new large granite tombstone along with the names of Story McKiney and Emma Berry. The information for Betty on the new granite tombstone reads: "Betty May Brown and Infant Child, September 11, 1859 - November 24, 1895"

These graves are located on part of the original homestead of Wesley Brown which was dated February 23, 1888.

On various genealogy sites her name is listed as "Maryann Elizabeth J. McCANLESS Brown" but on her two tombstones here she is listed as "Mae J." and as "Betty May".

There is information posted for Betty which says she was originally buried at "Brown Homestead Cemetery". This information was posted in 2010 and states that "Betty was buried in the Berry family cemetery which was just across the highway from Wesley Brown's homestead and a few years ago the Brown family had Betty's remains moved to the Brown Homestead with a new headstone."

It is plain to see that Betty's grave, surrounded with the original sandstone wall and marked with her original tombstone, has been located here for many years, so I question the part about her remains being moved. Additional proof that Betty's grave has always been here, is the fact that in 1970 information was published in a book "Madison County, Arkansas, Annotated Cemetery Enumerations, Volume I" which states that Betty's grave was located here beside the other listed graves in the 1970 enumeration. So if Betty's remains were moved it was prior to 1970.

Since the new granite tombstone was set here within the past 10-20 years, I think there may have been some confusion about her remains being moved.

Also buried here is Betty's daughter, Story McKiney, who died at age 18 in childbirth.

I can provide numerous pictures of these graves if anyone wants to see every angle of her grave.
