John Magnus Tillberg, son of Otto and Anna Magnusson, was born in, Sweden June 24, 1859 and passed away at the home of his son Conrad near Coin, Ia on Feb 8, 1938. He immigrated to the United States in 1881 when 21 years of age and came directly to Red Oak, Iowa where he worked as a farm hand for several years. He joined the Fremont Mission church and later went to Minneapolis, Minn to study for the ministry, serving various churches in Nebraska, Wymoning and Colorado. After this he followed the pursuit of farming. He was united in marriage with Venie Charlotte Amelia Anderson, daughter of Edward and Augusta Anderson, on Oct, 31, 1894 in Lincoln, Neb. To this union were born five children: Paul Victor Tillberg, Henry William Tillberg, Helen Ruth(Ralph) Hoxie, Carl J Tillberg and Conrad Magnus Tillberg. Two brothers Gus of N. Y. and August of Sweden. Funeral services Feb 10, 1938 at Shenandoah, Iowa.
