Third Wife of Major Jacob Wolf.

Maldred Meredith Wolf's parents are not known, and it is not known if Meredith was her maiden name or her surname from a previous marriage. It has been stated a number of times in various articles that Major Jacob Wolf married three widows. Some researchers have theorized that her maiden name was Cassinger, but no real proof has been found that her maiden name was or was not Cassinger.

It is known that she and Jacob Wolf were married on March 9, 1809, in Hopkins County, Kentucky, by Rev. J. Bourland.

The other picture is the original marker, and that photo was taken by Mary Jones in 2008. The black marking on the stone is not evident now, and as a result, it is almost impossible to even find the original marker and gravesite.]
