Son of Kern M. and Sarah Stapleton Sizemore, Tom was the younger brother of Hillery Walter Sizemore and the husband of Maggie Anderson Sizemore. He was born in Pumpkin Valley, Eidson, Hawkins County, TN on the family farm.

He helped his brother Hillery build his and is wife and Ida Carter Sizemore's house in Pumpkin Valley in late 1899/early 1900.
