The body of Isaac Cowan, mention of whose death in Detroit was made in Saturday's Dispatch reached this city Saturday evening and was taken to Earl's undertaking establishment where the funeral service was held at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
Rev. W. B. Warriner, pastor of the First M. E. church officiated. Interment took place in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Cowan died on Friday, March 3, at the home of his daughter in Detroit, where he and his wife were visiting.
Mr. Cowan was born Aug. 9, 1846. He was 75 years, six months and 24 days of age. He was married to Maggie Pepple, Jan 2, 1870. He leaves to mourn his loss, the widow and two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Watkins of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. George Hager of LaPorte county; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Flowers and Mrs. Libbie Davidson, of Chicago; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
All his life was spent in LaPorte county with the exception of 13 years spent in Manistee county, Mich.
