Gwendolyn R. Abel, 62, of Shelbyville, died Sunday Sept. 30, 2001.
Born April 18, 1939, in Smithville, N.J., daughter of Charles and Adelaide (Carpenter) Haines. Married Maynard L. Abel on Oct. 30, 1981. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Edward Bodine Jr. of California, Robert Bodine of Shelbyville, Oliver Bodine of Brownsville, N.J., and Jerod Bodine of Pemberton, NJ; two daughters, Terri Bongiorno, of Burlington, NJ, and Vicki Brown of Tabernacle, NJ; two stepsons, Brian Abel of Shelbyville and Michael Abel of Wildwood, NJ; two stepdaughters, Tonya Abel and Terri Bodine, both of Shelbyville; two brothers, Charles Haines Jr. of Burlington and Brian Haines of Williamstown, NJ; one sister, Susan Blasi of Mount Holly, NJ; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lived in Shelbyville since 1989. Homemaker and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St., with the Rev. Robb L. Barlow officiating.
Burial will be in London Cemetery in London, Ind.
