Miss Stewart was found dead in her room by her brother, Clark E. Stewart on Monday Sept. 15, 1947. Heart failure was the apparent cause. She had resided in Heyworth until she was 21 and then she attended Wesleyan University studying voice. In 1894 she and her brother, Clark, formed a partnership and for 38 years operated the Stewart Music store. For 18 years she lived with her parents and after their deaths spent several years in California. She and Clark traveled to Europe in 1931. She was a soprano n the First Presbyterian Church choir for a number of years and sang with several civic groups. She is credited with writing the "Illington Waltz" in 1902.
