James R. Blacakwell, died Sunday afternoon, May 4, 1970, in St. Luke's Hospital in Tryon, NC following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Son of Henry and Maggie Alverson; merchant; member of North Pacolet Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 6, 1970, at 3 p.m. at the North Pacolet Baptist Church officiated by Revs. Hollis Lovelace, William Howard and W. J. Sprinkle with interment in Church Cemetery. Survivors included; a son, two daughters, a brother Boyce Lee Blackwell, a sister, Mrs. Nora Howard, six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. He was 87 years of age at his demise.
