WINFIELD -
Martha E. Hostetler, 52, of Crest Road, passed away at 3:59 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she had been a medical patient for the past week.
She was born Jan. 12, 1957, in New Castle, a daughter of the late David Y. Sr. and Cora E. (Yoder) Zook. On Aug. 10, 1991, she married John M. Hostetler, and they celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on Monday.
Martha had been employed at Country Maid Sportswear, Shamokin Dam, for 12 years and also cleaned offices and homes in the Snyder County area.
She was a member of East District Mennonite Church, rural Watsontown.
Martha enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and canning. She was always eager to lend a hand to help any relative or friend, and she was a loving wife and mother and a great sister.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Amanda E. and Ruthann Hostetler, both at home; one brother and sister-in-law, David Y. Jr. and Thelma Zook, of Middleburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ida M. Zook, of Selinsgrove, and Anna M. and Roger Laudenslager, of Sunbury; and several nieces, one nephew and many cousins.
Friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, with the funeral following at 10, at East District Mennonite Church, Route 54, Watsontown, with the Revs. Glen Souder, Tim Stoltzfus and Sam Corderman officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brooks Funeral Home, Turbotville.
