Kyle was a man of many talents being a teacher at Grassy Springs School (Hawkins County, TN) as a young man, and a successful farmer having owned two farms totalling 514 acres at the time of his death. He was also a rural mail carrier for many years as well as a long-time Baptist preacher since 1937 having served several churches in Hawkins County, TN and he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a WWI veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
He was first married to Willie Lawson and they had a daughter Ursula Vivian Price (m. George B. Johnson). After Willie's death, he was married to Callie Ruth Sizemore until her death in 1944. They were the parents of Odell (m. Addie Carter), Evalena (m. M.C. Rogers), Charlsie Mae (m. Franklin Johnson), Deloris (m. Frank Collins) and Billy Hillery (B.H.)(m. Theda Carter). After Callie's death, he was married to Mollie Bowlin until his death in 1961. He was a good man loved by all who knew him.
