Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Tornow) Baker immigrated to the United States in 1882 from Ball, Prussia (Germany) with her son William Frederick "Will" Baker and her daughters Amelia "Millie" Baker Horn and Louisa "Lizi" Albertina Baker Waite. Her son married Anna Caroline "Carrie" Walter. Her daughters married two step brothers: Lizi married William Albert "Al" Waite, and Millie married William "Bill" Horn. Her niece Anna Tornow was married to the brother to Al Waite and Bill Horn, John Franklin Waite. This was a very close family, related to each other in a number of different ways. Sadly, Minnie outlived her daughter Lizi by four years.
